Sliding knot braiding is not decorative. It is the structure of the bracelet itself — what allows it to fit the wrist without a clasp, without a hook, without any visible mechanism. The technique is passed on through gesture, not through manuals.
Each bracelet requires several hundred repeated motions. The thread passes through, crosses, tightens, releases by half a turn, then begins again. Tension must remain constant from the first knot to the last, or the balance is lost.
The thread is chosen carefully. Braided nylon or technical polyester, depending on the density needed. The thread determines the suppleness, the durability, the glide of the knot when the bracelet is adjusted.
Precision is measured in millimetres. A gap between two stones, one extra wrap in the thread, and the piece loses its hold. This is what separates a bracelet that sits well from one that does not.
This way of knotting belongs to several traditions — Central Asia, the Mediterranean, Latin America — each with its own variant. Laracca takes its place in that continuity without claiming it as exclusive. A shared craft, practised with rigour.
